Minutes for the City Council meeting on January 30, 1967

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro met in special called session in City Hall, Monday afternoon, January 30, 1967, at 5 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Pierce, Turner, Bennett, Ledbetter, Darling, Minx, Bowers, Copeland, Young, Johnson and Knight. Absent: Stricklin.
Mr. Knight moved with Mr. Pierce seconding the motion that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee paid. All members present voted aye and the motion carried.
Mr. Young offered the following ordinance and it was on the first reading:
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING MATURITY OF CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS AND DATE FOR ISSUANCE OF PARKING REVENUE BONDS. (DEC. 1968)
Mr. Knight moved with Mr. Pierce seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the second reading. On calling the roll, all present voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Knight moved with Mr. Pierce seconding the rule be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. All members present voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Knight then moved with Mr. Pierce seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. All present voted aye and the motion carried. Motion by Mr. Knight seconded by Mr. Pierce for adoption of the Emergency Clause passed unanimously. The ordinance was given the number 1151.
Mr. Young offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION TO ISSUE AND SELL CAPITAL NOTES AS PRESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE 1123 IN THE AMOUNT OF $80,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
Mr. Knight made the motion, seconded by Mr. Pierce that the resolution be adopted. On calling the roll, all present voted aye and the motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1967:02.
Mr. Young offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION TO ISSUE AND SELL CAPITAL NOTES AS PRESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE 1123 IN THE AMOUNT OF $444,100 FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
Mr. Knight made the motion, seconded by Mr. Pierce that the resolution be adopted. On calling the roll, all present voted aye and the motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1967:03.
Mr. Young offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION TO ISSUE AND SELL CAPITAL NOTES NOT TO EXCEED $22,000 TO ADD A TERMINAL BUILDING AT THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
Mr. Knight made the motion, seconded by Mr. Pierce that the resolution be adopted. On calling the roll, all present voted aye and the motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1967:04.
There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
