The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Tuesday, August 9, 1988 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 314 W. Washington. The requests considered are as follows:

 

MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Sloan, Mr. Blalock, Mr. Vance, Mr. McCracken, Mr. Harris, Mr. Aycock, Mr. Lamberth

 

MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Lusby, Mr. Smock

 

The minutes from the July14, 1988 meeting were approved as prepared.

 

#1 A motion was made by Mr. Lamberth to approve a rezoning request from C-4 to C-3 for a part of Block B of Foxwood Addition belonging to Foxwood Development Company. The location of this property is south of Primrose and west of Stone Street. The motion was seconded by Mr. Aycock. Those voting aye were Mr. Sloan, Mr. Vance, Mr. Lamberth, Mr. Aycock, Mr. Harris. Those abstaining were Mr. Blalock REQUEST APPROVED.

 

#2 Troy Phillips, Leon Phillips, Eugene Phillips, Curt Green and Ben Lamberth requests a rezoning from C-2 to C-3 for Lots 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and the replat of Lot 9, located north of Phillips Drive and east of Gilmore Drive.

 

A motion to approve this request was made by Mr. Vance and seconded by Mr. Sloan. Those abstaining were Mr. Lamberth. REQUEST APPROVED.

 

#3 Mr. Lamberth made a motion to approve a replat request by James G. Anderson for Lots 10 and 11 of a second replat of Lakewood 2nd Addition, located east of Lakeview Cove and northwest of Wood Duck Cove. The motion was seconded by Mr. Harris. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.

 

#4 John White, III requests a replat of a part of the SW 1/4, SE 1/4, Section 20, T14N, R4E, known as Highland Ridge Place. The general location of this property is north of Highland Dr.

 

A motion to approve the request was made by Mr. Vance subject to the plat adhering to the stipulations required on the rezoning request submitted on May 12, 1988 with reference to 60' of right-of-way from centerline on Highland Dr. being dedicated. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lamberth. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.

 

#5 A motion was made by Mr. Sloan and seconded by Mr. Aycock to approve a request by Robert Wood for Highland Center Revised. The general location of this property is north of Highland Drive and west of Stadium Blvd. All members present voting aye .REQUEST APPROVED.

 

#6 Mr. Lamberth made a motion to approve a replat request by Lloyd McCracken and Hugh Atwood for Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Block 46, Culberhouse Subdivision, located west of Haven and South of Strawn. The motion was seconded by Mr. Vance. All members present voting aye.

 

#7 Bob Gibson requests a replat of Lot 7, Block A, Culberhouse 1st Addition, located east of Main Street and north of College Avenue.

 

Mr. Lamberth made a motion to approve the request subject to the removal of the building as shown on the plat. Mr. Vance seconded the motion. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.

 

#8 Floyd Vuncannon requests a replat of Lots 1 & 2 of Dacus 2nd Replat of Stallings First Addition to Jonesboro, located north of East Matthews and east of Caraway Road.

 

Mr. Lamberth made a motion to approve this request subject to one foot additional right-of-way being granted on E Matthews for a total of 41' from centerline. Mr. Vance seconded the motion. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.

 

#9 Future Homes Development Company requests preliminary approval of plans for Centre Grove Subdivision. The subdivision contains 22 lots on 7.736 acres, more or less, and is located north of Highland Drive and east of South Culberhouse.

 

A motion was made by Mr. Lamberth to approve the request and seconded by Mr. Vance. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED FOR PRELIMINARY APPROVAL.
