AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-1) of property described as follows:

 

All of Jumping Joe Commercial and Industrial Park, as shown by Plat in Plat Cabinet A8" Page 58,Craighead County, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Containing 21.53 acres more or less, and:

 

A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 14, T14N, R3E, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:

 

Commerce at the Northwest corner of the aforesaid Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 14, T14N, R3E; thence South 571.9 feet along the 40 acre line to a point on the South right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 63; thence S75º23' E 300.0 feet along said right-of-way,  to the point of beginning; thence continue S75º23' E 300.0 feet along said right-of-way, to the point of beginning; thence continue S75º23' E 200.0 feet along said right-of-way; thence S75º28'E 553.8 feet along said right-of-way to the center line of Lost Creek Ditch; thence S52º38" W 131.7 feet along the centerline of said ditch; thence S77º21'W 499.2 feet along centerline of said ditch; thence S73º22'W 222.0 feet along said ditch to the Southeast corner of Jumping Joe Commercial and Industrial Park; thence N9º38'E 448.4 feet along the East line of said Jumping Joe, to the point of beginning, containing 4.21 acres more or less. Containing in all 4.21 acres more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that therefore an emergency exists and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
