SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 12, 1974

The City Council met in a special session Thursday, September 12, 1974, at 5:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Province, Dr. Bowers, Stricklin, Minx, Smith, Bowers, Burns and Ward. Absent: Hannah, Johnson and Bridger.

Mr. Minx offered the following Ordinance for its 1^st reading: (#1414 Ferrell Addition)

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED AUGUST 12, 1974; ASSIGNING SAID TERRITORY TO WARD 3; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Stricklin seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the 2^nd reading. All present voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Minx moved with Mr. Smith seconding the motion that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on the 3^rd and final reading. All present voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Ward seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. All present voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Ward seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. All present voted aye and motion carried. Motion by Smith, 2^nd by Stricklin to adopt the Emergency Clause passed unanimously.

Mr. Smith offered the following Ordinance for its 1^st reading: (#1415 Spence Addition)

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED AUGUST 12, 1974; ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 6; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Stricklin seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the 2^nd reading. All present voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Ward seconding the motion that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on the 3^rd and final reading. All present voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Ward seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. All present voted aye and motion carried. Motion by Ward, 2^nd by Smith to adopt the Emergency Clause passed unanimously.

Mr. Ward moved with Mr. Minx seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the 2nd reading. All present voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Ward seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on 3^rd and final reading. All voted aye and motion carried. Mr. Smith moved with Mr. Stricklin seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. All present voted aye and motion carried. Motion by Smith, 2^nd by Ward to adopt the Emergency Clause passed unanimously.

There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
