The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, July 12, 1973 at 7:00 P.M. in the Court Room at City Hall.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. A.E. Scott, Jr.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Morrison, Cooper, Roddy, and Matthews.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Adams, Young, Haggenmacher, and Mardis.
OTHERS PRESENT: Mr. Joe Tomlinson, Larry Fugate, and Shirley Watkins.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Sutton’s First Replat of a part of Block 1 of B.F. Mackey’s Subdivision of Block 11 of Senter and Co’s Addition to Jonesboro. This property is located at the southeast corner of Wilkins and Wofford Street. A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. The vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #2. Taylor’s First replat of a part of Block F of Krewson’s Subdivision of Jonesboro College Addition to Jonesboro. This property is located at the southeast corner of Rosemond and Roy Avenue. It consists of the west 100 feet of Lots 42, 43, and 44 of Block F. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Morrison to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #3. Charles Montgomery requests final approval of Apple Hills First Subdivision of Jonesboro. This property consists of Lot 12, Block D of Apple Hills Subdivision and is located on Magnolia Road west of Winesap Drive. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Morrison to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #4. Requests for final approval of MacArthur Park 2nd Addition to Jonesboro. This property is located on the northeast corner of East Highland Drive and MacArthur Drive and consists of three lots containing 1.154 acres. A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #5. Home Federal Savings and Loan and Pocahontas Federal Savings and Loan request preliminary approval of Marlo Acres 6th Addition. This property is located along Main Street Extended between Southwest Drive and the 63 Bypass and is east of Marlo 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Additions to the City of Jonesboro. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request with the following stipulations.
(1.) Subject to research and approval by the Arkansas Highway Dept. for the entrance onto Highway No. 1;
(2.) Subject to the right of way at the northern boundary on Madison Street complying
(3.) Subject to the review of the rezoning for final approval to determine rezoning fro either C-4 or C-5
(4.) Subject to the adjustment of the length of the cul-de-sac street to minimum length.
A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
