CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - February 17, 1997
1. Call to order by Mayor at 6:30 p.m.
2. Roll call by Clerk.
3. Approval of minutes from February 3, 1997, as provided.
4. City Attorney:
(A) 2nd reading - Ordinance to annex 99.475 acres located on the north side of Macedonia Road, with a portion of the property being on the south side of Macedonia Road, all of it east of Highway 351. (David Cossey and Mike Young) See M.A.P.C. Stipulations.
(B) 3rd reading - Ordinance to rezone .93 acre from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3), located on the south side of Parker Road, west of Brown's Lane. (Dennis & Kay Noell)
(C) 3rd reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-2), located at 805 S. Madison Street. (W. Ray Nickle)
(D) 1st reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-5), located at 653 W. College. (Gerald Gasaway)
(E) 1st reading - Ordinance consenting to the assignment of the Cable Television System Franchise from East Arkansas Cablevision, Inc. to TCA Cable partners.
(F) 1st reading - Ordinance to amend Title Nine, known as "Streets and Sidewalks", by amending curb and gutter requirements in the Street Improvement Program Standards Manual.
5. Resolution to proceed with condemnation action of property located at 4110 Race Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas as requested by the Code Enforcement Officer.
6. Review the following bids:
97:03 - Commercial Mower - Cemetery
97:04 - Tractor - Parks
7. Resolution requesting necessary labor and free service from City Water & Light for lighting of an additional baseball field at Valley View Community Park.
8. Set an appeal hearing regarding the rezoning denial by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, for 4.13 acres located on the southeast corner of Aggie Road and Longhorn Drive. (Alpha Gamma Rho)
9. Set a public hearing for the purpose of vacating two (2) fifteen-foot (15') utility easements in Raider Village, Jonesboro, Arkansas (Phillips Investments, Inc.)
10. Resolution expressing the willingness of the City of Jonesboro to utilize federal-aid monies for signalization of U.S. Highway 49B and Patrick Street.
11. Resolution placing "STOP" signs at various locations within Jonesboro as recommended by the Traffic Authority Officer and MATA.
12. Review the following appointments:
· Harry Hardwick and Ralph Strickland to CW&L Board with both terms to expire January of 2000.
· Jon Coleman to the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission with an expiration date of January 2000.
