BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1:                     That Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas be amended by the change in zone district boundaries as follows:

 

From AG-1, Agricultural District to R-1, Single Family Medium Density District, that land described as follows:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

 A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (NW1/4, NE1/4) of Section 28 Township 14 North, Range 3 East, of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:

 

Commencing at the Northeast Corner of Section 28, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Thence S88º34’57”W 1,311.16 feet along the north line of said Section 28 to the Point of Beginning, Thence S00º07’18” W. 522.16 feet to a point on an existing fence, thence along said fence as follows:  N70º15’39” W. 35.61 feet, N72º28’14” W 119.28 feet, N71º59’21” W. 92.22 feet, N70º44’48”W 113.38 feet, N85º09’55” W 80.85 feet N89º0653” W 100.17 feet to a point, thence S69º41’53” W 8.14 feet to a point, thence N00º00’00”E 392.71 feet to a point on the North line of said Section 28, Thence N88º34’57”E 531.62 feet along said North line to the Point of Beginning, containing some 5.33 acres (232,112 sq. feet) subject to a road right of way along the North side thereof,

 

Subject to easements, restriction, reservations and rights of way of record.

 

SECTION 2:  It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in the Ordinance is delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
