AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES FROM R-1 TO R-2 AS REQUESTED BY MIKE RAINWATER

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2) if property described as follows: (Mike Rainwater).

 

A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: Commerce at a point on an existing North and South property line and on the North line of aforesaid Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 27, a distance of 938.68 feet bearing South 89 degrees 46' East from the Quarter Corner of Sections 27 and 28, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, as established for Fairview Acres, Jonesboro, Arkansas, and recorded in Book 123 Page 126  in the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk and Ex-Officio Recorder, Craighead County, Arkansas: thence North 89 degrees 46' West along the North line of aforesaid Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 27 a distance of 253.3 feet to the point of beginning proper: thence continue North 89 degrees 46' West 208.7 feet  to an existing property line;  thence  South 1 degree 05'  West 277.4   feet;  thence South 89 degrees  46' East 208.7 feet;  thence North 1 degree 05' East 277.4  feet to the point of beginning  proper; Subject to an easement of 30 feet along the North side of  said  tract  for a county  road.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that therefore an emergency exists and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
