AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.  954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the Changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property.

 

DESCRIPTION

A part of NW1/4 of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows: (Brown) Begin at the SW Corner of the NW1/4 of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 4 East; thence   N00°08'00"W - 207.30'; Thence N87°56'00"E - 1148.40'; thence N00°23'30"W- 522.10' to the Southeasterly right-of-way line of Arkansas Highway No.1; thence N32° 50' 00" E along said right-of-way line 23.00' to the point of beginning proper; thence N32° 50' 00" E along said right-of-way 159.2'; thence N31°05' 00" E along said right-of- way line of Arkansas Highway No. 163; thence S46°56'30" E along said right-of-way  line 243.3' to the Northwesterly right-of-way line of Missouri-Pacific Railroad; thence Southwesterly along said right-of-way along a curve to the left with a radius of 3861.70' a distance of 547.20' to the center of a ditch; thence N86° 54'00" along said ditch 338.80' to the point of beginning proper, containing 3.91 acres more of less, subject to all rights-of-way and easements of record.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
