AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

Part of the East Half of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas being more particularly described as follows:  Begin at the southeast corner of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas; Thence North 0°12'00" West along the East Line of Section 14, Aforesaid, 974.35 feet; Thence South 88°19'37" West 1110.00 Feet to the North R.O.W. Line of West Washington Avenue, the Point of Beginning proper;   Thence along said North R.O.W. line as follows: N. 85°21'34" West 40.38 feet, south 86°59'04" West 200.25 feet, South 89°50'49" West 800.00 Feet, North 84°31'32" West 100.50 feet South 89°50'49" West 390.06 Feet; Thence North 1°03'07" East 301.84 Feet; Thence South 89°20'41" West 523.90 Feet; Thence North 2°16'08" East 533.68 Feet to the South R.O.W. line of the Southern Pacific Rail Road; Thence North 84°32'00" East, along said Southern Rail Road R.O.W. Line 2051.82 feet; Thence South 0°50'16" West 1023.79 Feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 40.13 acres.

                     

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
