FEBRUARY 12, 1981

 

The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Thursday, February 12, 1981 at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall.

 

Members Present: Cooper, Smith, Scott, Ball, Tilton, White and Farmer

 

Members Absent: Gott and Freeman

 

Others Present: Mike Cameron, Carlos Wood, Brenda Barnes, John Broadaway and Curt Hodges.

 

Item #1 Don Moore requests a rezoning from Residential Two (R-2) to Commercial Three (C-3) the following described property: The west forty (40) feet of Lot 1 and all of Lots 2 and 3 of Cox’s Addition to the town of Nettleton, Arkansas. The general location of this property is north of Highway 18 and east and west of Arch Street.

 

A motion was made by Mr. White and seconded by Mr. Ball to approve request subject to the stipulation that 41’ right-of-way be required on Hwy 18 and 30’ of right-of-way on Arch Street. REQUEST APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

Item #2 Roger Moore requests conceptual approval of Woodrun Subdivision, First Addition. The general location of this property is south of Neely Road and west of Christian Creek.

 

Mr. Scott made a motion to Table request, seconded by Mr. Ball, until the Planning commission could review at least the rough draft of an ordinance that would permit this type of development. The request was TABLED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

Item #3 Kent Arnold requests a replat of Lots 6, 7 and 8 of Block B of Melton Commercial Addition Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is south of Southwest Drive and west of Glenwood Street.

 

A motion was made by Mr. Ball and seconded by Mr. Tilton to approve request. REQUEST APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

Item #4 John Kitterman requests approval of a replat of Lots 11 through 17 of Block B and Lots 1 through 7 of Block C of Cedar Heights First Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is along Cedar Heights Drive between Melrose Street and State Street.

 

It was pointed out that the MAPC has limited jurisdiction in this situation since the property is not in the City. A motion was made by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Ball, to approve request. REQUEST APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

Item #5 Guaranty Mortgage Company requests approval of scenic Hills subdivision Fourth Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is north of Nettleton Avenue and east of Scenic Hills Firs Addition.

 

Mr. Scott made a motion to approve request, seconded by Mr. White, subject to Freeman Street being opened on the north end. REQUEST APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

Item #6 Harold Fisher requests approval of a revised replat of Fisher’s Commercial subdivision in Jonesboro, Arkansas. the general location of this property is north of Highway 18 East between Kathleen Avenue and Amanda Street.

 

A motion was made by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Ball to: (1) approve replat, (2) give preliminary approval of the subdivision (3) recommend the entire parcel be rezoned. REQUEST APPROVED with above stipulations. Voting was unanimous.

 

Added to Agenda:

 

#7 Mike Cameron requests approval of a replat of Lots 21 and 22 of College Place Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

A motion was made by Mr. Scott and seconded by Mr. Ball to approve request on replat as submitted. REQUEST APPROVED UNANIOUSLY.

 

With no further business the meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
