A RESOLUTION TO CONTRACT WITH JONESBORO CITY STARS BOOSTER CLUB

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is the owner and operator of certain public park amenities known as the Earl Bell Community Center, Parker Community Center, Allen Park Community Center, Joe Mack Campbell Park, Allen Park and Parker Park, at which City Stars activities take place.
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is the administrator of free recreational youth programs known as "City Stars."
WHEREAS, Jonesboro City Stars Booster Club is an Arkansas not for profit organization operating exclusively for charitable purposes by providing positive and active moral support and assistance for the benefit of the City Stars Youth Sports Program of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and by providing sound financial assistance through fund raising activities and by the acceptance of donations for the City Stars Program; and to do all things incidental to or desirable in connection with the foregoing.
WHEREAS, Jonesboro City Stars Booster Club and the City of Jonesboro desire to enter into an agreement with regard to the administration of the City Stars recreational youth programs.
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has contracted with Coca-Cola for the sponsorship of Iron Will Endurance Series and Sponsorship of the Earl Bell Community Center.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro enter into agreement with the Jonesboro City Stars Booster Club to mutually offer youth athletics to Jonesboro youth and that funds raised by Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department for the purposes of City Stars may be appropriated to Jonesboro City Stars Booster Club for City Stars operations.
SECTION 2: That the City of Jonesboro shall distribute $5,100 per year for five years from GL 528 (The Coca-Cola Contract) to the Jonesboro City Stars Booster Club for City Stars operations.
SECTION 3: The Mayor, Hubert Brodell and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
