1. Call to order by Mayor at 6:30 p.m.
 
2. Roll Call by City Clerk.
 
3. Approval of minutes from August 20, 2001 as delivered.
 
4. City Attorney:
 
A. 1st Reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-5 LU-O) Limited Use Overlay for Professional Offices, located at 418 W. Matthews. (Sam Hester)
 
B. 1st Reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3),  located  on the west side of Southwest Drive, south Harwood Drive and west of Oak Park Drive. (Ruben Griffin)
 
C. 1st Reading - Ordinance to vacate an unimproved seven and on half foot utility easement and a ten foot drainage easement located in Block "D" of Forest Green Phase III Subdivision. (Bob Gibson, Greenmeadows Development)
 
5. Resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to transfer property which was donated by North Main Baptist Church to Mr. Billy Sartain.
 
6. Resolution setting a public hearing for the purpose of vacating  an unimproved portion of Peabody Drive. (Bob Gibson/Carlos Wood)
 
7. Resolution requesting free utility service to the following locations at Joe Mac Campbell Park:
      · 100 CWL Drive on the Dan Avenue side.
      · 601 CWL Drive on the Bypass side.
      · 501 CWL Drive on the north side of the street at the maintenance building.
 
8. Resolution to proceed with condemnation action on the following Jonesboro properties:
      · 3708 Griffin, Roger P. Moore, Owner
· 5306 East Nettleton, David Osterblad, Owner
· 213 and 215 West Forrest, Mike Gipson, Owner
 
9. Resolution amending the Wage and Salary Management Plan by deleting the positions of Assistant Fire Chief and Assistant Police Chief, Exempt Salary Grade 6.
 
10. Resolution amending the Wage and Salary Management Plan by reclassifying the positions of Fire Chief and Police Chief to an Exempt Salary Grade 6, and  requiring the Fire Chief and Police Chief to report to the Public Safety Director and function under the job description currently titled Assistant Fire Chief and Assistant Police Chief.
 
11. New Business by the Mayor.
 
· Request by Debbie Hazlewood to address Jonesboro City Council regarding the extension of the existing landfill and the projected new landfill.
 
· Request by N. Merkle to address Jonesboro City Council regarding the proposed landfill site.
 
· Request by Mr. Johnny Hutchison to address Jonesboro City Council on behalf of Ridgefield Christian School regarding the proposed new landfill.
 
· Request by Attorney Malcolm Culpepper to address Jonesboro City Council regarding the proposed Class IV Landfill.
