body
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: Section 24-20 (d) (3) is hereby amended to read as follows:
LOT REQUIREMENTS - The minimum size lot required in this district shall be 8,000 square feet in area, with a minimum depth of 100 feet.
Section 2: Section 24-21 (d) (3) is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 3: Section 24-22 (d) (3) is hereby amended to read as follows:
The minimum size lot required in this district shall be 6,000 square feet in area with a minimum depth of 100 feet.
Section 4: Section 24-23 is hereby amended by the addition of Sub-section (f) and (g) as follows:
(f) Waiting Period. Whenever a request for change in zoning district boundaries has been denied by the Commission, such request may not be refilled for a period of six (6) months from the date of the denial. If such request is granted by the Commission, but rejected by the City Council, then it shall not be refilled for six (6) months from the date of rejection by the City Council. This shall not prevent the Commission from resubmitting its approval to the Council within such period.
(g) Payment of Costs. The person submitting a Petition for Rezoning shall pay to the City Collector such fee as shall be established by vote of the Commission, which amount shall be fixed so as to cover charges for advertising the Notice of Hearing and publication of the Ordinance incorporating the proposed changes.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council that the present provisions of the foregoing Sections of the Zoning Ordinance are unduly restrictive regarding the size of lots; that the unlimited filing of Petitions for Rezoning after the same have been denied by the Planning Commission or the City Council has caused an undue burden upon such bodies and upon interested person; and further that the lack of provision for payment of costs by the proponents of zoning changes has resulted in a drain upon the City’s General Revenue; an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 1964.
