AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED AUGUST 15, 1973; ASSIGNED SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 4; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter described, was duly filed with the Clerk of the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas at Jonesboro, Arkansas on July 11, 1973; and,
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of said lands was signed by all of the owners of the acreage to be annexed to the City of Jonesboro; and,
WHEREAS, an order setting a hearing on said petition was entered, notice was duly published of said hearing, and hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the Couth Court on August 15, 1973, at which hearing it was duly found and declared that said petition for annexation was right and proper, and that such lands hereinafter described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, whereupon an order of annexation was made and entered; and,
WHEREAS, thirty (30) days have expired since the order of annexation dated August 15, 1973, and no proceedings to prevent said annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The territory and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro. Arkansas, by order of the County Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, dated August 15, 1973, be and they are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be deemed and taken to be a part and parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and inhabitants residing therein shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: The lands and territory hereby annexed to and accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, are more particularly described as follows:
Part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (0.07 acres) and part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (12.31 acres) all being in Section Twenty-six (26), Township Fourteen (14) North, Range Three (3) East, Craighead County, Arkansas, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, Section 26 aforesaid; thence South 89 degrees 14 minutes West, along the South line of said Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, 1309.0 feet to the West line of said Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter; thence North 0 degrees 42 minutes East along said line 340.0 feet; thence North 89 degrees 14 minutes East 141.9 feet; thence North 34 degrees 54 minutes East 108.4 feet; thence South 55 degrees 06 minutes East 61.8 feet; thence North 34 degrees 54 minutes East 140.0 feet; thence South 39 degrees 35 minutes East 161.4 feet; thence North 89 degrees 14 minutes East 293.3 feet; thence North 60 degrees 36 minutes East 187.2 feet; thence North 29 degrees 24 minutes West 15.0 feet; thence North 60 degrees 36 minutes East 215.2 feet; thence South 27 degrees 29 minutes East 568.2 feet; thence South 1 degree 23 minutes East 78.1 feet; thence South 89 degrees 14 minutes West 33.2 feet to the point of beginning proper, and containing in all 12.38 acres, more or less.
Section 3: The lands and territory annexed to the City of Jonesboro and hereby accepted by the City are hereby assigned and attached to Ward 4.
