Mayor Formon also stated Mr. Ken Stacks has indicated he would not be willing to attend a City Council meeting to discuss the Justice Complex, but would be able to meet with each Council member one on one. Councilman Moore stated he was going to make another motion for Mr. Stacks to attend a Council meeting so the public can hear Mr. Stacks’ comments regarding the Justice Complex.

It was discussed that any changes made would be from this point forward and the City will still have problems with existing areas. City Planner Otis Spriggs stated he’s intending on taking it to the MAPC in April and then to the Council for approval. PENDING
STREETS

Aggie Road: Mr. Hooton informed the committee that new subdivisions will be built in the area by Aggie Road and Old Paragould Road. The driveway for one of the subdivisions will be in the middle of a curve. The developers are asking for the City’s help to redo the curve and put in a stop sign to make it safer. Mr. Hooton indicated the cost would be approximately $55,000 to $65,000. It was questioned whether the changes to the road would affect any further plans for that area. Mr. Hooton stated there is nothing planned for that area right now. He also stated he’s unsure about how much of the cost the City will be paying. He explained the developers need a decision soon before they can finalize the plans for the subdivision. He further stated they would develop the area for three lanes and possible signalization. Councilman Moore motioned, seconded by Councilman Ashley, to recommend it to the full Council. All voted aye.
Relocation of Loberg, south of Nettleton Ave.: Mr. Hooton discussed safety improvements that the City has been asked to make to Loberg, which contains two 90 degree turns in a small area. Councilman Moore motioned, seconded by Councilman Dover, to put 5 lanes without curb and gutter on Lawson Road. Discussion was held as to what to do with the 5 lanes and whether or not there would be a bike lane. It was agreed there would be two lanes each way with a turning lane and the outside slow lane could be used as bike/walkway at this time, and should Lawson Road be opened up to five lanes in the future, the bike/walkways could be constructed on the shoulder. It was noted that Mr. Lyons asked for a copy of the minutes. PENDING
