II. ROLL CALL
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
• Minutes for the February 26, 2025, Stormwater Management Board Meeting
Motion to approve the minutes was made by Handwork and seconded by Porter. The minutes were unanimously approved.
IV. NEW BUSINESS
Wyatt stated that Rodney Winfrey, represented by McAlister Engineering, is requesting a variance to redirect the drainage to correct the flow path and to not enclose the ditch along Ginger Drive. McAlister stated that a variance on the curb & gutter has already been granted and because of this, there will not be anything to direct the water into. Wyatt questioned if the section of Ginger is paved. McAlister stated that the owners want to pave the road up to their property. Wyatt passed around a larger drawing with more detail. The City is in agreement the variance request and has no issues. Coleman made a motion to approve the variance request. Bevill seconded. All voted Aye. VR-2:25 was approved.
Light stated that he is not aware of water getting in any structures during the recent storms. The City is happy with how well the system worked. For the first time, the City provided sandbags. Jonesboro was very fortunate considering the situation in neighboring areas. Day stated that Highway 226 reopened yesterday after being closed due to flooding.
V. OLD BUSINESS
Porter questioned the status of the letters to property owners regarding the adoption of the new flood maps. Light stated that Roger will be working on getting those out next week.
Light stated that the BRIC grant might be available for the design of the Lost Creek from North Church to the City Limits (Northside Ball Park). Funding has been stalled for two years but additional information has been requested by next week.
