Wyatt stated he has been ask about selling of the back portion of acreage in the City limits. Where would a person start? Light stated the Planning Department. Light explained it would be a lot split. The guidelines are less stringent when creating two lots. It is more complex when more than two lots are created because it becomes a subdivision. Commercial developments have to do improvements such as enclosing the ditches along the front and side lot lines. Light stated there is a plan review process through the permitting software. The Engineering Department will look at the functionality of the development.
V. OLD BUSINESS

There is a quick turnaround for grant submission so it is difficult to finds project that fit the required categories. Light state the City is looking at two projects. First, putting in a box culvert on Prospect Road. The ditch is large and floods. The second project is in the Fair Park areas. There are also large open ditches and flooding. Five years ago, both projects were estimated the cost $5 million.
Wyatt ask about repetitive loss home. Light stated the last grant was for the purchase of four houses. Only two houses were bought because the owners of the other two did not agree with the appraised value.
Day ask for an update on the Corps work. Light stated the first phase cost $10 million. The study work is done dealing with flood maps. A study will be done on Butler Ditch Floodway if it becomes necessary.
Gillis ask about the status of the Flood Maps. Light stated there was a 30-day review by stakeholders to submit comments. There has been no response to those comments. After the comments are addresses, there will be a 90-day public comment period. Light stated one of the comments made by the City is the report and map contradict each other regarding Butler Ditch.
