AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Industrial (I-1) to Industrial (I-2) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 of Harmon Industrial Park revised, to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and being more particularly described as follows: A part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North Range 5 East and a part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 30, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas.  Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 29; thence South 89°13'49" West 1276.71 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence South 89°31'24" West 997.00 feet to the center line of ditch; thence North 49°53'24" East 797.05 feet along said ditch; thence North 43°35'14" East 304.56 feet along said ditch; thence North 33°29'43" East 134.64 feet along said ditch; thence North 23°22'32" East 216.67 feet along said ditch; thence North 14°30'08" East 195.06 feet along said ditch; thence North 14°23'40" East 90.49 feet along said ditch; thence North 89°21'56" East 1235.84 feet; thence South 0°35'06" West 1310.08 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 48.64 acres   more or less.

 

 SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the Tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
