CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - February 17, 2003
1. Call to order by Mayor at 6:30 p.m.
2. Roll Call by City Clerk.
3. Approval of minutes from regular City Council meeting held February 3, 2003, and the Special Called meeting held February 6, 2003, as delivered.
4. Financial/Legal Report. (Financial Report on the first meeting of the month, and Legal Report on the second meeting of the month)
5. City Attorney
A. 1st Reading - Ordinance amending the 2003 Budget for the appropriation of funds for the development of a stripe park on Main Street, contingent on the dedication of the property to the City of Jonesboro by the Bank of America.
B. 1st Reading - Ordinance amending the 2003 Budget for the appropriation of funds for the Jonesboro Police Department and Planning and Inspection .
C. 1st Reading - Ordinance appropriating funds for the removal and disposal of storm damage debris.
6. Resolution revising the Parks and Tourism’s Outdoor Recreation Grant Program and entering into a binding agreement based on the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grants Manual.
7. Resolution placing a 30 M.P.H. traffic sign at the location of Washington Avenue between Church and Houghton Road.
8. Resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the following MATA contracts and right-of-ways:
• Alma Jeanette Bohna, 1401 Angelus Street, Parcel Number 46.
• First Baptist Church, Union Street access to Parking Lot, Parcel 22B.
9. Resolution naming the judges, clerks and alternate workers to serve in the election for directors of the City of Jonesboro, an improvement district, on Thursday, February 20, 2003.
10. Resolution authorizing acceptance of State Planning and Research Funds from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department; appropriating matching funds; and authorization of JATS agreement of Understanding.
11. Set an appeal hearing regarding the MAPC failure to approve a Conditional Use Permit for The Merritt Group, Joel Taylor, Proprietor.
12. Review Bid No. 2003:02 - Street Sweeper for the Street Department.
13. Review of the following reappointments to the City Water and Light Board with an expiration date of March, 2006:
• Ward 3 - Harry Hardwick
• Ward 5 - Kathleen Pruitt
