ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON TO AN ALLEY RUNNING EAST AND WEST THROUGH THE EAST ONE-HALF BLOCK OF BLOCK G EXTENDING FROM CHURCH STREET ON THE EAST TO AN ALLEY ON THE WEST RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH THROUGH BLOCK G

WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, praying that the City Council vacate and abandon the alley described as:
An alley running east and west through the East one-half of Block "G" of the original survey of the Town of Jonesboro, Arkansas, said alley extending from Church Street on the east to an alley on the west running north and south through said Block "G" and being approximately 10 feet in width, and being bounded on the north by Lot 2 of Block "G", and being bounded on the south by Lots 3, 4 and 5 of Block "G" as shown on County Surveyor Record 1 at page 1 at Jonesboro, Arkansas.
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council has at a time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the alley heretofore described as heretofore been dedicated to the public use as an alley; that it has not been used by the public for a period of 5 years; that the owners of all of the property abutting upon the alley to be vacated, have filed their petition with the City Council for such abandonment; that the public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates, and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the alley described as follows:
An alley running east and west through the East one-half of Block "G" of the original survey of the Town of Jonesboro Arkansas, said alley extending from Church Street on the East to an alley on the west running north and south through said Block "G" and being approximately 10 feet in width, and being bounded on the north by Lot 2 of Block "G", and being bounded the south by Lots 3, 4 and 5 of Block "G", as shown on County Surveyor Record 1 at page 1 at Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: A copy of this Ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, and recorded in the deed and records of said county.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
