AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED MAY 20, 1976; ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 4; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES; ZONED (R-1)

WHEREAS; a petition for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter described, was duly filed with the Clerk of the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, at Jonesboro, Arkansas on April 14, 1976; and,
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of said lands was signed by all of the owners of the acreage to be annexed to the City of Jonesboro; and,
WHEREAS, an order setting a hearing on said petition was entered, notice was duly published of said hearing, and hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the County Court on May 20, 1976, at which hearing it was duly found and declared that said petition for annexation was right and proper, and that such lands, hereinafter described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, whereupon an order of annexation was made and entered; and,
WHEREAS, thirty days have expired since the order of annexation dated May 20, 1976, and no proceedings to prevent said annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The territory and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, by order of the County Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, dated May 20, 1976, be and they are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be deemed and taken to be part and parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and inhabitants residing therein, shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original Limit’s of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: The lands and territory hereby annexed to and accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, are more particularly described as follows:
A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (8.08 acres), and a part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (5.28 acres), all being in Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, and being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 3 East; thence North 1° 14’ East along the East line of said Northwest Quarter, Southeast Quarter, a distance of 1112.8 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence South 62° 31’ West 88.0 feet; thence North 27° 21’ West 135.0 feet; thence South 62° 31’ West 202.0 feet; thence South 27°29’ East 10.0 feet; thence South 62°31’ West 220.0 feet; thence North 27° 29’ West 44.7 feet; thence South 60°56’ West 137.7 feet; thence along the arc of a curve to the left of a chord bearing of North 31° 53’ West and a chord distance of 31.0 feet; thence North 34° 42’ West 17.7 feet; thence South 55°18’ West 60 feet; thence South 87° 06’ West 112 feet; thence North 74°26’ West 279.4 feet; thence North 0° 42’ East 33 feet; thence North 89° 18’ West 225.4 feet to the West line of said Northwest Quarter of Southeast Quarter; thence North 0° 42’ East along said West line 369.7 feet; thence South 74°18’ East 389.7 feet; thence North 15° 42’ East 162.5 feet; thence North 30°42’ East 67.7 feet; thence South 84° 14’ East 229.3 feet; thence North 71° 30’ East 124.8 feet; thence South 18°30’ East 85 feet; thence North 71° 30’ East 194.1 feet; thence South 18° 50’ East 52.6 feet; thence South 88° 46’ East 308.4 feet to the East line of said Southwest Quarter Northeast Quarter; thence South 1°14’ West along said East line 380.1 feet to the point of beginning proper, and containing in all 13.36 acres, more or less, and being subject to a 100 foot easement, being 50 feet on either side of the center line of the power transmission line as shown on the plat on the easterly side of the tract.
Section 3: The land hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, are hereby zoned Residential (R-1).
Section 4: The lands and territory annexed to the City of Jonesboro and hereby accepted by the City are hereby assigned and attached to Ward 5.
