AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the OF Zoning Ordinance the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-2) the following described property.

 

TRACT ONE:  A part of the NW 1/4, SW 1/4, a part of the NE 1/4, SW 1/4 and a part of SW 1/4, SW 1/4, all in Section 36, T14N, R4E, being more particularly described as follows:  begin at the Northwest Corner of the NW 1/4, SW 1/4 of aforesaid Section 36; thence N88°51'49"E on the ? Section Line 58.40' to the East R/W Line of Commerce Drive, the point of beginning proper; thence N88°51'49"E 737.27' to the Southerly R/W Line of U.S. Highway No. 63; thence with the meanderings with said R/W Line as follows:  S67°18'55" E 117.05'; S56°19'57"E 301.60'; S50°37'14"E 1500.06'; S47°45'30"E 170.20' to the 40 acre line; thence S88°50'10W on the 40 acre line 11066.37' to the 40 acre corner; thence S0°12'03"E on the 40 acre line 718.79' to the Northerly R/W Line of the Burlington Northern Railroad; thence N44°33'33"W along said R/W Line 1897.97' to the Section Line; thence N0°24'42"W on the Section Line 537.91'; thence N89°45'49" E 50.12' to the East R/W Line of Commerce Drive; thence N3°43'14"E on said R/W Line 114.90' to the point of beginning proper, containing 50.83 acres, more or less, subject to all Rights Of Way and easements of record, and:

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
