AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of zoning district boundaries as follows:
From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-2) of the Kathleen Street Industrial Park described as the South Half of the Northwest Quarter; the South Half of the Northeast Quarter; the North Half of the Southeast Quarter; the North Half of the Southwest Quarter; and a part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the point of intersection of the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the St. Louis San Francisco Railroad in the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence Southeasterly along the St. Louis San Francisco Railroad to a point where same crosses the West line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 26, the point of beginning proper; thence continue Southeasterly along the St. Louis Francisco Railroad to a point where same crosses the East line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 26; thence North along the East line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 26 to the Northeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 26; thence East along the South line of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, and the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 26 to the Southeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 26; thence North along the East line of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter and the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 26 to the Northeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 26; thence West along the North line of the South Half of the Northeast Quarter and the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 26 to the Northwest Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 26; thence South along the West line of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter and the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 26 to a point where the St. Louis San Francisco Railroad crosses the West line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 26, the point of beginning proper.
AND
All that part of the South one-half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, lying North and East of the right-of-way of the St. Louis San Francisco Railway Company less and except the right-of-way for the Jonesboro, Lake City and Eastern branch of the St. Louis San Francisco Railway Company, containing, less said exception, 27 acres, more or less:
All of that part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, lying North, and East of the right-of-way of the St. Louis San Francisco Railway Company, containing 3 acres more or less.
Less and except a part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, now being more particularly described as beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, thence North along the West Boundary line of this Quarter section, 660 feet to a point; thence East on a line parallel to the South Boundary line of this Quarter section, 660 feet to a point; thence South on a line parallel to the West Boundary line of this Quarter section, 660 feet to a point; thence West along the South Boundary line of this Quarter section 660 feet to the place of beginning; containing, in said exception, 10 acres, more or less.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
