CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - August 19, 1996
 
1. Call to order by Mayor at 6:30 p.m.
 
2. Roll call by Clerk.
 
3. Approval of minutes from, August 5, 1996, as provided.
    
4. City Attorney:
     
(A) 3rd reading - Ordinance to adopt a comprehensive Land Use Plan as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission.
 
(B) 3rd reading - Ordinance to close a portion of Gordon Street beginning 140 feet West of its intersection with Fourth Street and continuing west until its intersection with McClure Street and a portion of Word Street between Fourth Street and McClure. (Arkansas Glass Container Corp./Jon R. Coleman, Attorney)
 
(C) 2nd reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) for 4.07 acres located on the east side of Caraway Road, south of Harrisburg Road, and west of Stadium Blvd. (Calvary Pentecostal Church/Kent Arnold)
 
(D) 3rd reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) for 4.09 acres located on the northeast corner of Caraway Road and Sunnymeadow Drive. (Curtis Spence/Real Estate Solutions)

6. Request to set an Appeal Hearing regarding the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission's denial of a replat for Mr. Leroy Richard's property, located west of Keller's Chapel Road. (Mixon & McCauley, P.A.)    
 
7. Bid No. 96:26 - Public Officials Liability Insurance - Only one bid of Authur Galagher & Company. Bid No. 96:28 - Tech Park RR Spur (THIS BID WAS DELIVERED AFTER THE DEADLINE)
 
8. New Business by the Mayor
 
· Ordinance to waive bids for two (2) Demo-Fire Trucks and to appropriate $360,000 ($180,000 each) with $345,000.00 to come from the Fire Truck Fund and the balance ($15,000) to come from unappropriated sales tax fund. In addition $28,017 appropriated from unappropriated sales tax fund for additional equipment)
 
· Ordinance to rezone property from Industrial (I-2) to Industrial (I-1) located on the west side on N. Culberhouse Street, south of Gordon Street. (Nuckles & Son/Troy Sheets)
 
· Resolution to approve report of Board of Commissioners of Southview Acres Street Improvement District No. 1, and other matters.
