AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro to be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:
(a) From Residential (R-3) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
Lots 23 and 24, Block A, Sigler College Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
(b) From Residential (R-3) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property: Lots 9, 10 and 11 of Block 4 of R.L. Hay’s 2nd Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
(c) From Commercial (C-3) to Residential (R-2) of the following described property: The South 25 feet of Lots 1 and 2 of Block A, of Stallings 5th Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
(d) From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
A part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Southeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 29, thence South 89 degrees 02 minutes West 208.7 feet; thence North 35 feet to the North line of Race Street; the point of beginning proper thence North 173.7 feet; thence North 89 degrees 02minutes East 168.7 feet to the West right-of-way line of Arkansas Highway No.174: thence South along said right-of-way line 110.81 feet to the Race Street right-of-way line; thence South 41 degrees 07 ½ minutes West along said right-of-way line 59.49 feet: thence South 72 degrees 30 ½ minutes West along said right-of-way line 66 feet; thence South 89 degrees 02 minutes West along said right-of-way line 66.64 feet to the point of beginning proper; containing 0.62 acres.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tracts of land described in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
