AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:    

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) And Industrial (I-2) To Commercial (C-3) the following described property.

 

TRACT 1:  Part of the Southeast One-Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest One-Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, more particularly described as follows; beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Southeast Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, thence North 89°11'39" East for 1,093.7 feet; thence South 0°5'21" East for 306.1 feet; thence South 84°11'39" West for 49.7 feet; thence South 89°47'6" West for 1,049.59 feet; thence North 0°56'4" East for 302.27 feet to the point of beginning, containing 7.71 acres.

 

TRACT 2:  Part of the Southeast One-Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest One-Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, more particularly described as follows; commence at the Southeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, thence South 89°30' West for 725.5 feet; thence North 0°48'3" East for 160 feet to the point of beginning; thence South 89°30' West for 623.49 feet; thence North 0°56'4" East for 751.26 feet; thence North 89°47'6" East for 1,205.88 feet; thence South 8°2'39" West for 132.88 feet; thence South 35°41'39" West for 128.7 feet; thence South 11°3'39" West for 135.4 feet; thence South 89°30' West for 469.75 feet; thence South 0°48'3" West for 377.2 feet to the point of beginning, containing 15.20 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
