AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS: PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance to be amended by changes in zoning boundaries as follows:

 

(A) From Commercial (C-3) to Residential (R-3) the following described property: The South half of Lot 2 of Laird Survey of the North half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 28, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas.

 

(B) From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property;  A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows: Commending at the Center of Section 29, aforesaid; thence South 0 degrees 58’ West along the half section line 1177.2 feet; thence North 89 degrees 02’ West 50 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence South 0 degrees 58’ West along the West right-of-way line of Brown’s Lane 599.7 feet; thence North 89 degrees 02’ West 619.9 feet; thence North 0 degrees 58’ East 599.7 feet; thence South 89 degrees 02’ East 619.9 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 8.53 acres, more or less.

 

(C) From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property; Lot 1 of Fowler First Re-plat of a part of Block A, of Marlo Acres First Addition.

 

(D) From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property; A part of the North half of Section 31, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows:

 

Begin at the North one quarter Corner of Section 31, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence South 0 degrees 54’ East 30.0’ to the point of beginning proper; thence North 89 degrees 25’ East 132.0’; thence South 0 degrees 54’ East 130.0’; thence South 89 degrees 25’ West 170.0’; North 0 degrees 54’ West 130.0’; thence North 89 degrees 25’ East 38.0’ to the point of beginning proper, containing 0.5 acres;

 

Begin at the North one quarter corner of Section 31, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence South 0 degrees 54’ East 30.0’; thence South 89 degrees 25’ West 98.0’ to the point of beginning proper; thence South 0 degrees 54’ East 200.0 thence South 89 degrees 25’ West 170.0’; thence North 0 degrees 54’ West 200.0’; thence North 89 degrees 25’ East 170.0’ to the point of beginning proper, containing 0.78 acres.

 

Section 2: The City Council does find and declare that the proper use of these tracts of land is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
