SPECIAL CALLED MEETING CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - DECEMBER 30, 1994

 

The Jonesboro City Council met in a called session, Friday, December 30, 1994, at 5:30 p.m. Those present were Mayor Brodell and all council members with the exception of Councilman Mullenix who was unable to attend.

 

Councilman Vance offered the following ordinance for the first reading:

 

AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE.

 

Councilman Harpole moved, seconded by Councilman Vance to amend the ordinance in Section 1, from "Metropolitan Area Planning Commission" to "Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority". A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. Councilman Harpole moved, seconded by Councilman Bowers to suspend the rules and place on the second reading. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. Councilman Bowers moved, seconded by Councilman Perrin to suspend the rules and place on the third and final reading. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. Councilman Vance moved, seconded by Councilman Harpole for the adoption of the ordinance. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. The ordinance was given the number 2594.

 

Councilman Mays offered the following ordinance for the first reading:

 

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A 1995 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO

 

Councilman Vance moved, seconded by Councilman Kelton to suspend the rules and place on the second reading. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. Councilman Mays moved, seconded by Councilman Harpole to suspend the rules and place on the third and final reading. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. Councilman Perrin moved, seconded by Councilman Wise for the adoption of the ordinance. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. The ordinance was given the number 2595.

 

Councilman Harpole moved, seconded by Councilman Evans to accept the negotiated fee of Friday, Eldredge & Clark to serve as bond counsel for the City of Jonesboro. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Wise, Evans, Ingram, Province, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah.

 

With no other business the meeting was adjourned.
