AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 954, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, TO REZONE FROM C-2 AND R-2 TO C-1, CERTAIN PROPERTY (CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH PROPERTY ON OAK, CHERRY, CHURCH, AND MAIN STREETS)

WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has heard all persons desiring to be heard regarding the proposed rezoning of three (3) tracts of property generally located as follows: (1) east of Church Street, between Oak and Cherry Avenues; (2) between Oak and Cherry Avenues and Main and Church Streets; and (3), at the northwest corner of Main Street and Oak Avenue; and has unanimously recommended to the City Council rezoning as described below;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended by the changes in zoning district classifications, from R-2 Residential to C-1 Commercial, for the following described properties: Lots 5-9 of Block l of Beloate Addition, and Lots 35-42 of Cobb's Survey of the NW NE S19, T14N, R4E; AND from C-2 Commercial to C-1 Commercial, for the following described properties: Lots 1-4 of Block 1 of Beloate Addition; Block 11 of Knight's 1st Addition; and a part of Block 9 of Knights's 1st Addition, more particularly described as follows:
From the Southeast Corner of said Block 9, thence N 00°48'19"E8.00 feet along the east line of said Block 9 to a point marking the intersection of the westerly right-of-way of Main Street with the Northerly Right-of-way of Oak Avenue, the point of beginning: thence southeasterly 13.95 feet along the Northerly Right-of-way of Oak Avenue along a curve to the right to a point. Said curve having a central angle of 44° 23'55" and a radius of 18.00 feet, thence N 89°45'35"W 82.45 feet along the Northerly Right-of-way of Oak Avenue to a point, thence N 00°48'19"E 58.92 feet to a point, thence N 89°53'24"W 95.55 feet to a point on the west line of said Block 9, the Easterly Right-of-Way of Union Street. Thence N 00°48'19" E 60.00 feet along the West Line of said Block 9, along the Easterly Right-of-way of Union Street to a point, thence S 89°53'24"E 190.55 feet to a point on the East Line of said Block 9, the Westerly Right-of-way of Main Street, thence S 00°48'19"W along the East Line of said Block 9, along the Westerly Right-of-Way of Main Street to the point of beginning.
