AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of zoning district boundaries as follows:
1. From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of property described as: A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 28, Township 14, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northwest Corner of said Section 28; thence South on the Section line 40.0 feet to the South right-of-way line of Arkansas Highway #18; thence North 89°30’ East along said right-of-way line 60.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence North 89°30’ East along said right-of-way line 262.8 feet; thence North 89°20’ East along said right-of-way line 237.2 feet; thence North 89°20’ East along said right-of-way line 774.1feet to the East line of said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence South 0°07’ West along said line 150 feet; thence South 89°20’ West 773.8 feet; thence South 1190.0 feet; thence South 89°20’ West 237.2 feet; thence South 89°30’ West 262.8 feet to the East right-of-way line of Arkansas Highway #173; thence North along said right-of-way line 1340 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 18.046 acres, and being subject to a proposed right-of-way off and across the North side thereof.
2. From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2) of property described as: The East 100 feet of Lot 1 of Laudermilk Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
3. From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) of property described as: Lot 7, Block 8 of Ridgecrest Addition, less and except the Southwesterly 48.7 feet thereof, to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and adoption.
