MAPC MINUTES
JANUARY 1982
The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Thursday, January 14, 1982 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Cooper, Ball, Smith, Tilton, White, Farmer, and Blalock
MEMBERS ABSENT: Gott and Scott
OTHERS PRESENT: Mike Cameron, John Broadaway, Brenda Watkins, and Curt Hodges.
Business was as follows:
ITEM #1. Gene Martz requested approval of a replat of Lots 39 and 40 of a replat of Lots 38, 39, & 40 of University Heights Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is North of Aggie Road and West of University Drive.
Mr. Tilton made a motion to approve request seconded by Mr. Smith. Request was APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
ITEM #2. Jim Bridger requested approval of a replat of the West 120’ of Lot 83 (lying South of the U.S. Hwy 49) and the West 120’ of Lots 79, 80, 81, and 82 of College Place Subdivision, Jonesboro, Arkansas into two lots. The general location of this property is South of U.S. Hwy 49 (Johnson Avenue) and West of Melrose Street.
Mr. Tilton made a motion to approve request, seconded by Mr. Ball, subject to setback totaling 40 feet on the west side and approval for construction of two buildings on resulting one lot. Request was APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
ITEM #3. John Kitterman requested a replat of Lots 7, 8, & 9 of Block 2 of Gregg and Houghton’s Subdivision of Kitchen’s Place, Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is North of Oak Avenue and West of Kitchen Street.
A motion was made by Mr. Ball and seconded by Mr. Tilton to approve the request. Request was APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
ITEM #4. Tommy Rankin requested preliminary approval of subdivision plans for Driftwood East, Second Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is West of Stadium and North of King Street.
Mr. Ball made a motion to approve request for construction of two buildings on Lot 7 and that guaranteed access to given Eastside Baptist Church. The motion was seconded by Mr. White. Request was APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
ITEM #5. John Ktterman requested final approval of subdivision plans for Meadowlark Estates Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. The general location of this property is North of Leslie Ann Drive and West of Toni Ann Drive.
Mr. White made a motion to approve request, seconded by Mr. Blalock. Request was APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
OTHER BUSINESS WAS AS FOLLOWS:
Mr. White made a motion, seconded by Mr. Smith to approve the additional drainage plans, adding one drainage outlet at Watertree Condominiums on Stroud Street. The plans were APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
