AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 24-20, 24-21, 24-22 AND 24-28 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro. Arkansas:
Section 1: That the following sections of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro are hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 24-20 - R-1 Residential District: Paragraph (d) (7): “Off Street Parking. Two parking spaces shall be required each dwelling unit. One parking space shall be required for every eight seats within a church’s main auditorium. Parking for public facilities and schools shall be adequate for employees and the public.”
Section 24-21 - R-2 Residential District: Paragraph (d) (7): “Off Street Parking. Two parking spaces shall be required for each single dwelling unit; each duplex and each apartment unit. For each two to five units an additional parking space shall be provided. All parking spaces shall be back of building set back line. One parking space shall be required for every eight seats in a church’s main auditorium. Parking for public facilities and schools shall be adequate for employees and the public.”
Section 24-22 - R-3 Residential District: Paragraph (d) (7): “Off Street Parking. Two parking spaces shall be required for each single dwelling unit; each duplex and each apartment unit. For each two to five units and additional parking space shall be provided. All parking spaces shall be back of building set back line. One parking space shall be back of building set back line. One parking space shall be required for every eight seats in a church’s main auditorium. Parking for public facilities and schools shall be adequate for employees and the public.”
Section 24-28 - Vehicle Parking Regulations. Paragraph (3):
“(b) Single family dwelling units - two parking spaces.”
“(c) Two-family dwelling units -four parking spaces.”
“(d) Multiple family dwellings - two parking spaces for each dwelling unit.”
“(e) Town houses (condominium) - two parking spaces for each dwelling unit. Required parking for a town house, if not located on the town house lot, shall be a part of the town house development, shall be located in an area in which each lot owner holds an undivided interest, and shall be accessible to and within 100 feet of the town house lot, and shall not be separated from the town house lot by a public street or alley.”
Section 2: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is hereby found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that an emergency exists and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
