AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows: (LLL & G Partnership, Citizens Street between Oak and Matthews, R-1 to C-1.

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-1) of property described as follows: Lot 1 of the LLL and G Partnership Re-plat of Lots 5, 6 and 7 of Cobb’s Survey of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: From the Northeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 19; thence South 32.9 feet to a point; thence South 89˚ 06’ West 290.1 feet to the                      point; thence South 01˚04’ West 162.45 feet along the Westerly right-of-way of Citizens Street to a point; thence 89˚36’ West 16.94 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence South 01˚04’ West 162.45 feet along the Westerly right-of-way of properties newly dedicated to Citizens Street to appoint on the South line of Lot 7 of Cobb’s Survey of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 19; thence North 89˚49’ West 146.12 feet along the South line of said Lot 7 to the Southwest corner thereof: thence North 01˚22’ East 163 feet along the West line of said Lots 7 and 6 to a point; thence South 89˚ 36’ East 145.26 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing some 0.544 acres, more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effects from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of July, 1987.
