4.                     Recommendation of Tree Inventory by Jonesboro Forestry Council

a.                     Confirmation of Burditt:

i.                     The Jonesboro Urban Forestry Committee requested RFP’s for a tree inventory.  Received 4 proposals.  Interviewed 3 firms.  Two firms were close.  The firm the committee selected was Burditt.  References were checked and confirmed excellent.

b.                     Two proposals from Burditt:

i.                     Proposal A

ii.                     Proposal B

iii.                     One for $2,000 more and we asked if we could get for a larger area, high percentage of trees and more specific information about those trees for $10,000 more.  In other words a more accurate study.

iv.                     Letter from Patti Erwin stating we can move the funds from an urban forester to the inventory.

1.                     Feel this is wise because without a general idea of what we need to do we don’t need to identify projects for our arborist.

v.                     Requesting $10,000 be moved in our Urban Forestry Grant.

c.                     Does this need to go before the grants committee?

i.                     Sense of urgency to this issue.  Because of “leaf-on” study.  Grant cycle ends May 31st.

d.                     Contract to be approved by Phillip.

e.                     Committee approved the Proposal B (a $20,000 tree inventory) if approval to shift funds from an arborist to the inventory was approved by the Arkansas Forestry Commission.  The committee recommended the inventory would have to be approved by the Finance Committee.

5.                     Acceptance of bid for University Lions Park
