AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows and from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-1) of property described as follows: (Medical Center Development Co. Addition Willie Young Northeast corner of Rains and Grant)

 

The South 129.07 feet of Lot 1 of  the Medical Center Development Company Addition to the City of Jonesboro, And the East 75 feet of the North 52.78 feet of Lot 4 of Cobb’s Survey of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, And Lot 13 in Block 1 of Gregg & Houghton’s subdivision of Kitchen’s Place to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas And all of an alley fifteen feet in width lying East of the South 129.07 feet of Lot 1 of Medical Center Development Company Addition, said alley having fen closed by Ordinance No.1384, City of Jonesboro, And the East seven and one half feet of said alley lying West of the North 13.43 feet of Lot 3 in Block 1 of Gregg and Houghton’s Subdivision of Kitchen’s Place to the City of Jonesboro, allocated in the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 14 North, Range 4 East of the Fifth Principal Meridian in Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: From the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quart4er of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 19, thence North 89˚46’53” East 52.19 feet to a point, thence South 01˚25’21” West 195.27 feet to a point on the East right-of-way of Rains Street and 129.07 feet North of the South line of Lot 1 of the Medical Development Company Addition to the City of Jonesboro, the point of beginning; thence South 89˚46’53” East 247.95 feet along a line 129.07 feet North of and parallel to the South line of Lot l of the Medical Center Development Company Addition to the City of Jonesboro to a point in the center of an alley fifteen feet in width closed by Ordinance 1384 of the City of Jonesboro, thence North 01˚25’21” East 13.43 feet along the centerline of said alley to a point on the North line of Lot 13 of Block 1 of Gregg & Houghton’s Subdivision of Kitchen Place Extended, thence North 89˚46’53” East 92.50 feet across said alley and along the North line of said Lot 13 to the Northeast Corner thereof, thence South 01˚25’21” West 142.50 feet along the East line of said Lot 13 to a point on the Northerly right-of-way of Gant Street, thence North 89˚46’53” West 340.45 feet along the North right-of-way of said Gant Street to its intersection with the Easterly right-of-way of Rains Street, the Southwest Corner of Lot 1 of the Medical Center Development Company Addition to the City of Jonesboro, thence North 01˚25’21” East 129.07 feet along the West line of said Lot 1 to the point of beginning, containing some 1.037 acres, more or less.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public safety, it shall effect from and after its passage and approval.
