AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING  ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County Arkansas and being more particularly described as follows:

 

Commencing at the Northeast corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter aforesaid; thence West 1064.0 feet to the point of beginning, thence South 00°16'25" East 301.86 feet to the North Right-of-Way line of Washington Avenue extension; thence along said Right-of-Way line Southwesterly along a 7.998 degree curve, concave to the south, 71.13 feet; thence along said right-of-way line South 76°18' west 200.3 feet;  thence along said Right-of-Way line South 64° 23' West 22.1 feet to the West line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter aforesaid; thence along said West line North 1°32' East 372.4 feet to the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter aforesaid; thence along the North line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter aforesaid East 273.4 feet to the Point of Beginning.  Containing in all 92,720 Square feet or 2.129 acres, more or less.

 

 SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
