The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Thursday, July 14, 1988 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 314 W. Washington. The requests considered are as follows:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Sloan, Mr. Blalock, Mr. Smock, Mr. Vance, Mr. Lamberth, Mr. McCracken, Mr. Harris, Mr. Aycock
MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Lusby
#1 Mr. Vance made a motion to approve a request by Rick Wheeler for final approval of Wheeler Heights Extended with the recommendation that the developer look into building the streets to City specifications considering the close proximity to the existing City limits. The development covers 14.49 acres, more or less, and contains 13 lots. Mr. Lamberth seconded the motion. All members present voting aye, REQUEST APPROVED.
#2 A motion was made by Mr. Smock to give final approval to Carroll Caldwell for Southwest Square Subdivision. The subdivision is located on the SE corner of the NW 1/4, NW 1/4, Sec. 30, T14N, R4E and covers 9.70 acres, more or less, and contains 25 lots. The general location of this property is east of Park Place and west of Marlo Acres Third Addition. The motion was seconded by Mr. Blalock. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.
#3 Albert Stem requests a replat of Lots 5A & 5B of a replat of Lot 5 of Stem’s First Addition to Jonesboro. The general location of this property is south of Race and west of Curtview.
Mr. Lamberth made a motion to approve this request with the stipulation that the owner make standard street and curb improvements to Race Street according to City specifications. The motion was seconded by Mr. Smock. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.
#4 Mr. Vance made a motion to approve a replat request by Tommy Rankin for Lot 15, Block A of South Meadow Subdivision, located east of Lakewood Drive and south of Medallion Circle. Mr. Sloan seconded the motion. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.
#5 A motion was made by Mr. Lamberth to approve a replat request by Tommy Rankin for Lot 1, Block A of South Meadow Subdivision, located north of Medallion Circle. The motion was seconded by Mr. Sloan. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.
#6 Tommy Rankin’s request for a replat of Lot 1, Block B of South Meadow Subdivision was approved on a motion by Mr. Smock and seconded by Mr. Vance. The property is located south of Medallion Circle. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.
#7 A motion was made by Mr. Vance to approve Tommy Rankin’s replat request for Lot 5, Block C of South Meadow Subdivision. The property is located south of Medallion Drive. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.
#8 Mr. Lamberth made a motion to approve a replat request by Tommy Rankin for Lot 4, 5, 6 and 14, Block B of South Meadow Subdivision. The property is located north of Medallion Drive and south of Medallion Circle. All members present voting aye. REQUEST APPROVED.
Commissioners reaffirmed decision to change the meeting date for MAPC from the second Thursday to the second Tuesday of each month.
