RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ARDOT) for THE FY 2019 TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM FOR THE UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS LINK TRAIL

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the FY 2019 Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant in the amount of $395,000, of which $316,000 are Federal-aid funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will match the Federal-aid funds with $79,000 in local funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will accept all accounting, reporting, and project responsibilities for said grant; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will use said funds for the construction of the University Heights Link trail that is proposed in the Master Bike and Pedestrian Plan.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The Jonesboro City Council will enter into the new agreement with the Arkansas Department of Transportation to accept the 2019 TAP-University Heights Link Trail in the amount of $395,000.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all necessary documents to effectuate this contractual agreement.
