Title: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EXCEPTIONAL SITUATION AND WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR TRUCK BODY WORK ON WRECKED SANITATION TRUCK. WHEREAS, the 2008 Mack Rear Load Sanitation truck was damaged in an accident on November 30, 2018; and, WHEREAS, the City’s insurance companies appraiser handled the transactions to their rules and regulations; and, WHEREAS, the only local service is Tri-State Truck Center, and the city’s insurance company agreed upon the work to be done for the price of $29,281.48 which was paid to the City on February 25, 2019 less $500 deductible. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT: Section 1: An exceptional situation exists requiring the waiving of the conditions of competitive bidding, so that competitive bidding requirements are hereby waived, and the insurance and body shop agreed on the price of repairs. AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EXCEPTIONAL SITUATION AND WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR TRUCK BODY WORK ON WRECKED SANITATION TRUCK.

WHEREAS, the 2008 Mack Rear Load Sanitation truck was damaged in an accident on November 30, 2018; and,

WHEREAS, the City’s insurance companies appraiser handled the transactions to their rules and regulations; and,

WHEREAS, the only local service is Tri-State Truck Center, and the city’s insurance company agreed upon the work to be done for the price of $29,281.48 which was paid to the City on February 25, 2019 less $500 deductible.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT:

Section 1:  An exceptional situation exists requiring the waiving of the conditions of competitive bidding, so that competitive bidding requirements are hereby waived, and the insurance and body shop agreed on the price of repairs.

Section 2:  Said expense was paid from the insurance recovery monies which was paid by Gallagher’s APERMA to fund the repairs plus the deductible.
