AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EXCEPTIONAL SITUATION AND WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR SHOP REPAIRS ON A 2008 MACK 20CY PACKER TRUCK.

WHEREAS, the 2008 Mack 20 cy packer truck was damaged in an accident on November 30, 2018, and,

WHEREAS, the City’s insurance company, APERMA’s adjustor estimated the total repairs and had the truck sent to Tri-State Truck Center of Jonesboro for repairs, and,

WHEREAS, APERMA has paid the City of Jonesboro the amount of $28,781.48 less the deductible of $500.00 to be paid to Tri-State Truck Center of Jonesboro once repairs are complete.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION 1:  An exceptional situation exists requiring the waiving of the conditions of competitive bidding, so that competitive bidding requirements are hereby waived, and the repairs were purchased from the estimate from APERMA and obtained for insurance reimbursement.

SECTION 2:  Said repairs will be paid from the insurance recovery monies paid by Gallagher’s APERMA fund already received by the City
